HIDDEN IN PLAIN SIGHT - Thursday, October 10th (Airway Heights City Hall)
Do you have children or young family members? Do you work with youth?
Want to learn more about what is trending with youth mental health and substance misuse?
Walk through a mock youth bedroom and try to identify 70+ items that can indicate problem or risky behaviors. After the walk-through, attendees will participate in a presentation and discussion that covers:
- Identification and discussion of items and how they may indicate problem or risky behaviors
- Popular local youth trends
- Tools to help navigate the youth years and discussion points for family conversations
Childcare provided for potty-trained kids.
Light refreshments will be served. Must be 21+ to attend.

This is just a friendly reminder that our monthly Parent Engagement Committee meeting will be held tomorrow night (Thursday, September 19, 2024) at 6pm in the Lakeside High School Library. All are welcome to attend. Topics will be school and district communication, open house, early childhood education programs, facilities, and transportation. We look forward to hearing your thoughts and engaging in this discussion with you.
Next month's meeting agenda will be set by parents and community members in attendance.

**Lakeside Middle School Track Team**
In a thrilling display of speed, skill, and teamwork, the Lakeside Middle School track team showcased their talent in a memorable competition. Led by their dedicated coaches and supported by enthusiastic fans, the event was a resounding success.
**Boys 7th Grade: Lightning on the Track**
The boys of the 7th grade dominated the competition, leaving all teams in their wake except for the formidable Northwood squad. With lightning-fast strides and unwavering determination, they set the track ablaze with their speed.
**Boys 8th Grade: Unstoppable Force**
The 8th-grade boys proved to be an unstoppable force, surpassing every opponent with their sheer athleticism and drive. Their performances left spectators in awe as they conquered the track with skill and precision.
**Girls 7th Grade: Riverside's and Colville's Rivals**
The 7th-grade girls showcased their strength and resilience, emerging victorious against Riverside and Colville in a thrilling showdown. With swift strides and unwavering focus, they left no doubt about their prowess on the track.
**Girls 8th Grade: Northwood's Close Call**
Despite a valiant effort, the 8th-grade girls narrowly missed victory against Northwood by just one point. Their determination and grit were on full display as they pushed themselves to the limit, earning the admiration of all in attendance.

From lightning-fast sprints to powerful throws, every member of the Lakeside track team demonstrated exceptional skill and dedication. Whether racing down the track or launching projectiles through the air, their performances left spectators cheering for more.
**Coach Gervais and the Middle School Coaching Staff**
A salute goes out to Coach Gervais and the entire middle school coaching staff for their unrelenting effort in not only developing the athletic skills of our students but also in building their characters and instilling valuable life lessons. **Celebrating Coach Casey Monohan and the Entire Coaching Staff**
A heartfelt tribute goes out to Head Track Coach Casey Monohan, along with his stellar coaching staff, for their unwavering dedication and guidance. Their leadership was instrumental in shaping the success of the team and fostering a culture of excellence.
**Gratitude to Lakeside High School Track and Field Team**
The Lakeside High School track and field team, along with their coaches and supporters, played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth execution of the event. Their assistance and expertise were invaluable in creating an unforgettable experience for all involved. These young adults spent their entire afternoon and evening until close to 8 pm running events, taking scores, running events, and encouraging middle school students to pursue the level of excellence they've grown accustomed to.

A special shoutout goes to the partnership between the high school boosters and middle school PTN for their contributions to the event's success. From the concession booth to the sidelines, their support helped create a memorable atmosphere for athletes and fans alike.
