Destination Imagination Success! 🌟

On Saturday, March 7th, seven teams from our district traveled to Richland to compete in the Destination Imagination Eastern Washington Regional Competition. Out of 80 competing teams, Nine Mile Falls brought home 6 medals, one special award, and six teams have qualified for State! These students have spent months preparing engineered contraptions, scripts, and technical props, while also mastering "Instant Challenges" that require split-second teamwork and creativity. 🥈 2nd Place & State Qualifiers: Team The Looney Lakeside Llamas with Legendary Luscious Lashes (Henry L., Nicolas B., Genevieve C., Samantha C., Makenna N., and Skye K.) for the Fine Arts "Becoming Super" challenge.

⭐ Great Competition: Team Wait Now?! (Grant C., Clara C., Mia M., Deslyn H., and AJ H.) for their impressive performance in the Technical "Win It Big" challenge.

🎓 They grow up so fast! 🎓 Our incredible 8th grade class took a huge step toward their future by registering for their high school classes! It’s hard to believe that just a short time ago they were walking our halls as brand new middle schoolers, and now they’re making decisions that will shape their high school journey and beyond. From future engineers and athletes to artists, leaders, and everything in between — the excitement and potential in this group is truly inspiring. We are so proud of the young adults they’ve become during their time here. Their growth, resilience, and personality have left a lasting mark on our school. High school is lucky to be getting this group. Once an Eagle, always an Eagle. 🦅

📸 Picture Retakes 📸 Didn’t love your first school picture? No worries! Picture retakes through Dorian Studio will take place on Monday, October 13th in the morning during school. Students who missed picture day or would like a retake will have the opportunity to get their photo taken at that time. Let’s see those Eagle smiles! 🦅

🦅Eagles Take a Stand Against Bullying🦅 At Lakeside Middle School, our students and staff are committed to addressing the ever-evolving challenge of bullying and harassment. This week, students engaged in meaningful conversations during advisory and created posters to highlight skills they are learning to help build a safe, respectful, and inclusive community. We know that bullying is not something solved overnight—it’s an ongoing effort that requires learning, practice, and teamwork from all of us. We are proud of the steps our Eagles are taking and the commitment they’re showing to create a positive environment for everyone at LMS. Together, we’ll continue growing, learning, and working to make our school a place where all students feel safe and supported.

🔬✨ Science in Action! ✨🔬 Mr. Hunsaker’s 7th grade science students got hands-on this today with a chemical reactions lab! From bubbling mixtures to unexpected color changes, our Eagles were excited to see science come alive right in front of them. 🧪🔥 Labs like this not only make learning fun, but also help students build curiosity, teamwork, and critical thinking skills. Way to go, 7th graders—you’re true scientists in the making! 👩‍🔬👨‍🔬

🏈🦅 LMS Students Bring the Energy! 🦅🏈 Last Friday night was one to remember! Lakeside Middle School students packed the stands to cheer on the high school football team—and they’re STILL talking about it this week. From the roar of the crowd to the thrill of the big Eagle win, our middle schoolers were all in. The buzz hasn’t stopped in our hallways…students are still jacked about how much fun it was to be part of the action and show their Eagle pride under the Friday night lights. 💚 We love seeing our LMS Eagles supporting their future high school teammates. The spirit is real, the excitement is contagious, and the pride is all around! 🏆

Lakeside Middle School Open House 🦅💙💚 Tonight’s Open House was an epic way to kick off the school year! Students picked up their schedules, caught up with friends, practiced their locker skills, toured the school, and met their teachers. 🎒📚 This new style of Open House was a first for us—and it was a hit! From meeting classrooms full of excitement to a little friendly Parent vs. Student Battle Ball in the gym, memories were made all around. 🏐💥 We can’t wait to officially welcome our Eagles back tomorrow for the first day of school. 🦅
